The problem of fungal damage to the nail plate on the legs today is familiar to every tenth resident of the planet. If the disease has only appeared, folk remedies can help, in more advanced cases, modern antifungal drugs are used. Despite the fact that this disease does not cause us any inconvenience, except aesthetic, it is important to take it into treatment in a timely manner, and not to let the matter on its own, since in the process of reproduction on the nails, the fungi secrete toxins, which, when it enters the bloodstream, begin to poison our body and inhibit the immune system.

The causes of the fungus on the legs

Nail fungus

Infection of people, mainly in contact with a sick person, animals, through common items (combs, bedding, home slippers, bath rugs, etc. ). Paradoxically, today, people who are actively involved in sports, visiting pools, saunas, baths, public recovery, training rooms and using the same sports equipment are subject to this disease.

A special role in the development of the fungus on the legs is played by excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis), a disturbed metabolism, the presence of diabetic disease, AIDS, obesity, a decrease in immune protection against the background of antibiotics or oral contraceptives. In addition, excessive consumption of sweets and high -calorie foods contributes to the occurrence of endocrine disorders, which facilitates the process of taking fungus.

The diagnosis of a fungal disease of nails on the legs, like its treatment, is carried out by a mycologist, but in some cases, a dermatologist consultation is additionally required.

Symptoms of fungal lesions on the legs

The fungal disease of the nail plate on the fingers is called onychomycosis. The main symptom of the manifestation of infection is a change in the color of the nail plate, which becomes green-yellow. After some time, she loses its splendor, becoming dim, thickening and porosity develops.

The disease itself will not disappear, the fungus is very tenacious. Gradually, in the process of development, the fungus affects all parts of the nail, completely destroying it, after which it begins to affect other nails, and often the skin. The treatment of affected skin does not eliminate the fungus, it is necessary to affect the foci of the disease.

Fleet treatment

Not so long ago, the fungus of nails on the legs was treated only with operational means by removing the nail plate. However, this technique was completely ineffective, since in most cases the nail that grew again was also affected by a fungal infection. Nowadays, the surgical method is used only with particularly severe forms of onychomycosis.

As noted above, the disease can be treated at home using recipes of traditional medicine in the early stages of its development and in the absence of complications. With a slight damage to the nails, local drugs with antifungal properties are used. They are applied to the plate, usually twice a day. Due to the penetration of the drug into the nail and its accumulation there, an effective treatment of the fungus is carried out there, as well as the prevention of the development of mycosis. Such drugs include ointments, creams, sprays, lotions, powders. Such drugs are used, as a rule, before healthy nails grow. There are also pulse therapy schemes that can significantly reduce the treatment course (up to several weeks). Before using drugs, it is necessary to carry out preparatory measures. To do this, for fifteen minutes it is necessary to take a soap-soda bath, after which the dead parts of the nails must be cut and treated with a special file. In this case, it is very important to use different manicure tools for healthy and damaged nails.

In addition to creams and ointments, there are special therapeutic varnishes, which also have an antifungal effect, as well as plasters.

With more serious lesions and with local treatment ineffectiveness, system action preparations in the form of capsules or tablets are prescribed.

The latest developments in the fight against fungal infections have developed combined drugs, which, in addition to destroying the fungus, soften the horn masses, which prevents the thickening of the nail plate. The development of side effects from taking new drugs is minimal. In addition, in the field of hardware cosmetology, drill were advanced, in which special nail mills were added.

Treatment with folk remedies

The causes of the fungus

Home treatment of the fungus must be started with water baths with soda, which will make the nail plate soft, after which you can easily clean and remove the keratinized parts. Such a bath and cleaning are recommended to be carried out once a week for six months (until completely updated the nail). The affected areas should be treated several times a day with tea tree oil in its pure form (one drop under the nail, the other on it). To enhance the effect of the use of oil, it is recommended to seal the nail with adhesive plasterer. For the same purpose, you can use in an equal ratio of tea tree oil with lavender oil.

Wash the potato peel and cook until cooked. Then it must be kneaded with your hands right in the water. Drain the decoction to the basin where to lower your legs and steam well. After that, the affected areas should be rubbed with a potato gut. Then again steam your legs, rinse with the same water, grease your nails with stanned pork fat, put on socks. The procedure is carried out every day until a complete recovery comes.

In an equal ratio, mix vinegar essence with water. Using this solution, knead a steep dough. Cut in the center of a piece of adhesive plastry a circle to the size of the nail plate and stick on the affected area. Apply the dough only to the nail without affecting the skin. Top the dough on top. Five days later, the dead nail will do, and the new one will grow up healthy.

Three four times a day, apply milk on the affected areas, and steam your legs in hot water at night.

A thin half of the lemon slices is applied to the sick nail, excluding skin areas, cover with cellophane and fix with a bandage. The procedure is best done at night for ten days.

Pour 100 g of crushed aspen bark, pour 500 ml of boiling water, put on fire and cook for five minutes. Then use the decoction for the bath. After steaming on the affected nail, apply a mixture from a teaspoon of soda and a tablespoon of crushed dark laundry soap. The course of treatment is three months.

The next method of treating the fungus must be started with the bath: add two tablespoons of sea salt and a tablespoon of soda to a liter of hot water (70 ° C). In the resulting solution, you should keep your legs for no more than half an hour. Then you should clean, remove and polish the affected nails. After that, wash your legs and arms with soap, treat hydrogen peroxide, and it is better to use gloves during the procedure. Next, you should dry the legs with the napkin and apply the nail rollers of iodine and on the affected areas. Iodine should be applied three times after drying. The procedure is carried out daily at night.

Pour three large sheets with two liters of water, put on fire and cook fifteen minutes over low heat from the moment of boiling. Then strain the decoction. In the resulting decoction, keep your legs for half an hour. Then you should treat the affected areas with apple cider vinegar and put on clean cotton socks. The course of treatment is one month.

Combine two teaspoons of medical alcohol with the same amount of vinegar essence and add one teaspoon of glycerol. Mix everything well and apply one drop to the affected areas on the toes. The procedure is carried out daily until the deadly elimination of the dead nail is completely eliminated. The composition must be applied directly to the nails, excluding hits on the skin, in order to avoid burns.
